Pharmacy First Service - sore throat, uti, shingles
This service is offered from most community pharmacies in NI and provides advice and treatment if needed. For more information see Pharmacy First section under 'Services' tab on our website or contact your local pharmacy.
Pharmacies also continue to offer variety of free treatment over the counter for minor ailments such as head lice, thrush, athletes foot, threadworm, and more.

De-prescribing Awareness
De-prescribing means reducing the numbers of medications being prescribed to you. Sometimes medications can keep being added and none are removed - resulting "polypharmacy" and all the risks associated, such as drug interactions and increased side effects.
The Dept of Health are making "de-prescribing" an area of focus for the forthcoming year.
